CEO Roundtable® is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year and we want you to know it. If you have been receiving emails from me for some time, you already know how much we value our members and their success. But you may not know how much value we have been providing our members for the past 20 years. We have proven the power of peer groups — it does not have to be lonely at the top!
CEO Roundtable provides:
- Small Peer Group meetings every month were CEOs have confidential conversations with other CEOs about CEO level issues. The same groups stay intact for years.
- All-Member Seminars on current business topics of general interest; for example, firing and hiring senior staff or the art of the deal.
- Members Only Annual Retreats have a national reputation for the unique subjects and for the world class discussion leaders. In these two day retreats we take off our ‘CEO’ hats and have deep conversations rooted in the humanities. We explore the power of the humanities to not only increase the value of our companies but to also enrich the quality of our lives. As we mature the values of the humanities becomes more apparent.
Our retreat in February this year featured David Whyte, internationally acclaimed ‘poet to the boardroom,’ who lead a discussion of his latest book, Consolations. We focused on “Solace: The Art of Asking the Beautiful Question.” This was the fifth time David led our retreat. We also relaxed with great conversations over dinner and then stay on to enjoy the great jazz of Eli Newberger and his world class band.
In previous years Tina Packer, Founder and Artistic Director of Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA, led us in discussions of “Hamlet” and, together with jazz musician Eli Newberger, in an exploration of the “Discipline of Improvisation.” Barrie Grief, Harvard psychiatrist, led us in a discussion of one of Norman Rockwell’s paintings, “Leaving Home”, and before that a discussion of “Your Net Worth”. We decided that our greatest legacy will be the stories told about us. Last year Benjamin Zander, conductor of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, inspired us with “The Art of Possibility.”
